INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPE

Brief:This is a course I've taken in 2011, called Interactive prototype. In this course, I learnt knowledge about programming and prototype. The topic of this course in 2011 is domesticate search. I was with my teammember Nathan Kotlarewski did research on cleaning and created this kill germ game.
 
We associated domesticate with the Finnish dwellings (as we are in Finland) and search with find. So in the beginning of this project, we did online questionnaire on how do fins do clean in their kitchen, and afterwards, we did shadowing and interviews on four finnish people at their home.
Based on the study, we came out the idea to make a dinning table . So that people can interact with the table while they are doing chore. We hope in this way we can make the housework a bit fun and the interactive table can help them make sure that the clean is done properly.
Therefore, we studies the technology of touch screen and did one table-size multi touch screen by ourselves.
We developed the game "kill germ". It can help users completely cleaning the table surface without realising that they are doing boring housework and to display information that reveals how clean t he surface is to help users search for unsanitary areas that need to be cleaned.
The Game "kill germ" works so that when user wipes the table, a germ appears and moves randomly. Wherever the user wipes, that area will turns into a red color. The red area will bounce the germ back and germ will finally be killed as long as the table surface is wiped thoroughly.
We created the flowchart and used arduiro and processing to prototyped the game.
